Yeshiva Gedolah Melbourne Australia witnessed its first very own Siyum Hashas. Hatomim Menachem Mendel Leder , a 16-year-old student, conducted the Siyum after having learned through the entire Shas in approximately 2 years.
Anash and Bochurim of all ages, gathered in YG to partake in the Siyum and the Kinnus Torah that followed.
The Kinus began, with Hatomim Hashliach, Menachem Mendel Sorkin Chazering a Sicha. In the spirit of Inyonei De’yoma, he presented a Biur of the Rebbe relating to Sha’ar Haiyichud Ve’hoemunah.
Then the moment of excitement arrived. Hatomim Menachem Mendel Leder was introduced and proceeded to relate a Hadran of the Rebbe on Masseches Nidah, connecting the beginning and end of Shas. As the Mesayem began reading the Teffilos recited at a Siyyum, the crowd burst into spontaneous singing and dancing, in honor of the Kavod Hatorah.
The Kinnus Torah continued with Divrei Torah and Divrei Hisoirerus, from several Rabbonim and Bochurim.
Rabbi Binyomin Cohen, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedola, discussed the Sugya, of the obligation to learn Torah day and night. Rabbi Zvi Telsner, Moro De’asra of the Lubavitch community in Melbourne, began by encouraging the Bochurim to “Meemenu Yiru Vechen Ya’asu”. And then discussed the Halochos and Kashrus of milk, based on the Gemmoroh. Rabbi Mendel Krasnjanski, Magid Shiur at Cheder Levi Yitzchok, in a very entertaining display of Ge’onus, taught the Bachurim about the Halochos of punishments for Mitzvas Aseh. Rabbi Yonasan Johnson, Rosh Kollel of Kollel Lubavitch in Melbourne, delivered a Halachik dissertation regarding the rules of tying knots on Shabbos.
Afterward, 2 more Bochurim of Yeshiva Gedolah, Hatomim Ari Raskin and Hatomim Nochum Zalman Kahn were up to speak. The in-depth analysis of Sha’ar Hayichud Vehoemunah continued, with both Bochurim presenting well prepared Iyunum on the Tanya.
The speeches concluded, and Maariv began, following which, the Bachurim participated in a Seudas Mitzvah and Shturemdike Farbrengen, in honour of the Siyum Hashas. The Farbrengen continued well into Seder Chassidus.
“Ashrei Ayin Roasash Kol Eleh”, How lucky are the eyes that beheld this tremendous Simchah. Imagine the Nachas Ruach, that such a display gives our beloved Rebbe, organizers said.
So nice to see such an event by Lubavitch. Its high time, that there is a Major Promotion of Learning Gemara in Lubavitch, Bochurim like this need to be Publicized like all the other mishagassen are. There are many boys who with the right encouragement would be doing this all over the world. It just needs the Push and the Chashivus attached to it.
Beautiful The satmar rabbi reb Aharon began a program several years ago where his chassidim learn an amud a day and then review it at end of each week. I myself began a program where I do eight to ten lines of gemorrah. The repeat those lines three times each day and on shabbos begin all the way from the beginning of the previous weeks once. So far I was able to complete mesectas Taanis. And every week the last 13 weeks I review it and finish by shabbos. I’m just sharing this so that teenagers should do s few… Read more »
