Areivim USA has announced that they are raising the payout amount per orphan, to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
“The current amount collected per orphan, $100,000, is no longer adequate. The cost of living and of marrying off a child has risen” Areivim wrote to members announcing the change. “Therefore, the amount collected must be changed.”
“Areivim USA will be collecting $150,000 per orphan, at a maximum monthly donation of $42 per member.”
The Areivim USA program was created to support widows and orphans in a way that preserves their dignity.
Areivim recently ran a successful membership drive in Crown Heights and Lubavich at large.
The Crown Heights Beis Din has released a letter of support for the Areivim program. A free translation of the letter reads “we are aware of the Areivim program that supports orphans and widows in an honorable way. “Yasher Koach” to the organizers and all those that participate.
