Hundreds of people attended a festive gala dinner celebrating the 72nd anniversary of Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim in Brunoy, France.
The yeshiva’s faculty, alumni and supporters toasted together at the event in Paris which was produced by LS Events and coordinated by Rabbi Shimon Lasri of the Yeshiva’s administration.
The Yeshiva was founded by the Frierdiker Rebbe in 1947 in the shadow of the destruction of European Jewry in the Holocaust of the Second World War.
The Yeshiva opened its doors with a restricted number of students and an even more restricted financial situation. However, it was balanced by extreme spiritual wealth.
It welcomed from amongst the most profound Chasidim of those times: R’ Nissan Nemanow, R’ Yosef Goldberg, R’ Yisroel Noach Belinitzki, amongst others. Today it remains a home for bochurim from around Europe and even the United States.
Speaking about the Rebbe‘s words of blessing and encouragement to the Yeshiva was the director Rabbi Mendel Gurevitch. The Menahel Ruchni Rabbi Yitzchok Nemanow welcomed the guests.
Entertaining the evening was Jewish music star Avraham Fried, himself a father to a student who graduated from the Yeshiva.
