Video footage has emerged of a Chassidic Jewish couple being harassed about Gaza on a tram in Manchester, England.
The anti-Semitic rant emerged on social media after being filmed by another passenger on the Metrolink at the time, Manchester Evening News reported.
In the video a man can be heard calling to a young Jewish couple dressed in traditional Hasidic clothing.
“Does he know about the situation in Gaza,” he said.
The man, who claimed to be from Palestine, added: “I’m just asking one single question.
When challenged by other passengers, the man says, “How is that an inflammatory question?”
The woman, 27, who filmed the incident said she reported it to the Community Support Trust, an organization for reporting anti-Semitic hate crimes.
The Jewish couple are understood to have been visiting Manchester from London.
A spokesperson for Metrolink said: “Hate crime has no place on Metrolink or anywhere else and we’d encourage this incident to be reported to police.”
CST director Mark Gardner said the instance was sadly familiar to Britain’s Jews.
“This is one blatant example of Jews being told to answer for the situation between Israel and Gaza,” he said. “In a sense it is no different to the way that many Jews feel treated within political parties, on campus, or perhaps from work colleagues.”

I’m so impressed with the other passengers. It’s beautiful how they stood up and protected them.
