A record number of 15,000 people gathered on Monday night at the Pais Arena Jerusalem, a multi-purpose sports arena in Israel’s holy city to mark Gimmel Tammuz.
Lubavitchers and Jews of all ages traveled from around the country to participate in the special event commemorating the 25th yartzeit of the Rebbe.
The evening was described as a “family farbrengen” as the crowd was made up of rabbonim, Mashpiim, Chassidim, Baalei Teshuva, bochurim and young children.
The program included live speeches, videos of the Rebbe and chassidim telling personal stories showing the Rebbe’s impact on the world until this very day.
While nigunim were sung, the large crowd sang along in unison. The highlight was a live broadcast from the reading of a ‘pan kloli’ at the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens on behalf of the Chabad community in Israel.
“The atmosphere and this uplifting Chassidic farbrengen require us to strengthen ourselves in hiskashrus to the Rebbe and fulfill his holy instructions,” said Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Aharonov, the organizer.
