About our School:

YSZ High School for Girls is an exciting new educational startup, currently seeking inspired and inspiring educators. We are a mission driven, innovative, student- centered girls high school committed to equipping our girls with the 21st century skills that they will need to thrive. YSZ High School for Girls is located in Rego Park, a quiet area in Queens, NY. It is accessible by public transportation and is an easy commute from Long Island and NYC with plenty of street parking. The school offers faculty coaching and weekly professional development for all teachers. The school is small, with class sizes ranging from 5-16 students in a class. The school culture is creative, collaborative, innovative and professional. Job Description:

YSZ High School for Girls is seeking an inspired and inspiring Chumash teacher/Mechanechet for 12th grade. We look for teacher leaders who are passionate about their subject and capable of passing on that passion in the classroom. The ideal candidate will be able to provide both the essential skills in text and midrash, and innovative teaching techniques that bring Tanach to life for today’s Torah students.

As a startup school, we are looking to hire educators who value collaboration, and are excited to experiment, take chances, and challenge themselves to implement the most dynamic learning experience for each student. This teacher leader should infuse the students and the school with ruach and kedusha while staying grounded in text-based courses. The Mechanechet should take a particular interest in the student’s lives and spiritual well being, should participate in extracurricular activities, and should welcome students to her home for Shabbat.

The candidate should be comfortable teaching with technology and have ample experience in differentiating instruction.

All Judaics teachers should have strong Hebrew textual skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Warm, enthusiastic educator who can serve as a role model to teenage girls.
- Committed to a growth mindset.
- Open to or trained in student-centered learning techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong oral and written Hebrew proficiency.
- Strong Hebrew textual skills.
- Extensive educational background in Judaic Studies.
- BA in Judaic Studies and/or Education or equivalent.
- MA in Jewish Education preferred.
- 1-3 years teaching experience preferred.

We welcome teachers with strong extracurricular experience. We anticipate many additional career opportunities in this area, including club leadership and mentoring programs, as our school continues to grow.

Salary for a full time position ranges from $70,000-$100,000, commensurate with a candidate’s experience, education, and course load.
