Crews were seen cleaning the streets in Crown Heights today as part of an initiative to beautify and clean up Kingston Avenue during Tishrei, organized by by local resident Sam Stern. Photos

This is such a good initiative. If the local store owners and residents would each take 5 minutes to clean up in front of their house and stores, it would make CH and even better, happier and more safe place to live.

if everyone would throw their garbage in a garbage bin and not drop it on the sidewalk or street, that would help too (though the leaves would arguably be left for property owners).

NOW MAYBE WE CAN WORK ON CATCHING THE PYRO MANIAC SETTING FIRES IN THE ALLEYS OFF OF BROOKLYN AVE. AND KINGSTON AVE. FOR THE LAST YEAR.

Beautiful Initiative, kol hakavod! Whenever I come to CH I love the atmosphere, davening in 770 and in general being in a frum, chassidishe neighborhood. I am always appalled by the amount of garbage on the streets. With all the alternate side parking maneuvers, and inevitable parking tickets when you forget, you’d think the streets would be cleaner. We should also take the time to educate ourselves and our families about the need to keep a clean environment in the most literal sense of the word. Trash should be placed in a bin, and not tossed. We can stop Alternate street parking

If we can get our own streets cleaned, we can stop alternate street parking along with all the tickets that go along with it.
