Chabad communities and yeshivos worldwide took part in a JEM Chof Cheshvan unity event.
A week before Chof Cheshvan, at the inspiration of two JEM team members, an initiative was launched to unite all Chabad communities on Chof Cheshvan by watching an important sicha of the Rebbe. A week later, on the eve of Chof Cheshvan, the birthday of the fifth Chabad Rebbe, the Rebbe Rashab, gatherings took place in Detroit, London, Argentina and many other places.
The Rebbe Rashab is famous for his founding of the Tomchei Temimim yeshiva, and his address to the founding students, where he called on them to enlist in the “Battle for the House of David” by spreading the light of chasidism throughout the world, is a watershed moment in Chabad history.
The initiative, which was planned and launched in quick order, was designed to enable communities to host viewings and learning sessions of a talk of the Rebbe on Chof Cheshvan 1984. In that talk, the Rebbe declared the mission that the Rebbe Rashab entrusted to his yeshiva studentsis mission relevant to every Jewish man and woman, regardless of background, affiliation or education.
The video of the talk premiered on Youtube, and a resource page was created to help communities watch, learn, and screen this monumental sicha.
After witnessing the success of the project, the team committed to creating future such initiatives, and one for Yud Tes Kislev is already in the works.
