“It’s a little hard to talk,” Dr. Zev Zelenko admits at the beginning of a new video he has filmed from his hospital bed, just a few days after he has undergone surgery to remove a rare form of cancer.
“Thank G-d, everything went well,” said the family physician from Monsey, NY. “They removed the tumor and it seems like they were able to do a good job.”
The condition of Dr. Zelenko has been on many people’s minds. After his malaria drug regimen against Covid-19 has been touted by President Donald Trump, the Chassidic doctor has become a public personality.
A crowdfunding campaign was set up to support Dr. Zelenko’s medical bills and his family during this difficult time. So far $88,539 has been donated. Donations can be made at https://www.charidy.com/zelenko
“I would like to let everyone know how much I appreciate your prayers and support of my family. It means a lot to me,” the doctor stated in the video.
He also said that he was in a lot of pain, but added with a smile “thank G-d for narcotics.”

As an experienced researcher I applaud Dr Zelenkos efforts, brilliance and resilience. It is really sad how as he has said, the insidious enemy of politics and greed is so disappointing. Let’s davven on Tisha b’av that Hashem should give immediate success to those like Dr Zelenko who deserve it, and an immediate Refuah shleima to the so many misguided who need to do teshuva
Zev, the world needs you to get better. Your courage is off the charts. I’m so glad to hear they took out the cancer, may it never come back. go to the ohel as soon as possible. Thank you for your great work. Klal Yisroal is so proud of you.
