In response to dozens of tragic deaths among our own neighbors, there will be a community-wide conference on the opioid epidemic this week in Crown Heights.
This critically important conference will take place Wednesday evening, May 16th, at 7:00 pm on the beautiful roof terrace of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum at 145 Brooklyn Avenue, corner of St Marks. The conference is free of charge and all are encouraged to attend.
This is a not-to-be missed event featuring some of the leading medical and legal experts on the opioid epidemic.
Presenters will address strategies for preventing the misuse of opioids, root causes and cures, resources available to the community and how we can stem the tide of destruction. Attendees will also get to hear from families who have been impacted from the crisis and people in recovery.
“The danger is real and it’s threatening our community our children, our lives,” said Yaacov Behrman, director of Operation Survival. “Join us at this community-wide meeting and hear from leading medical professionals, law enforcement, and elected officials what we can do to fight this.”
There will be free nasal spray naloxone kits distributed at the event as well.
Please note: The event will take place at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum on Brooklyn Avenue.
