The ‘Kibud Av’ campaign, honoring the Rebbe’s father, Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, is still ongoing, marking 80 years of spiritual might.
Chassidim from around the world united on Chof Av for a campaign honoring Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, father of the Rebbe. Over 3,000 men, women and children participated in the campaign, which was launched in the days prior to Chof Av, and is still open for donations.
The raffle for donors on a pair of tickets to Almaty will take place on the 6th of Tishrei – coinciding with the 60th anniversary of Rebbetzin Chana’s passing. The winners will receive two airline tickets to Almaty, giving them the opportunity to pray at Rabbi Levi Yitzchak’s resting place. You can still join the raffle by donating today.
The campaign funds the Jewish renaissance taking place in Kazakhstan under the direction of the Rebbe’s shluchim, who continue what Harav Levi Yitzchok started eighty-plus years ago.
Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen, Chief Rabbi of Kazakhstan, expressed awe at the campaign’s reach: “Gradually becoming fulfilled is Rebbetzin Chana’s wish: ‘That they should not forget my great husband.’ It’s inspiring to see global support for Jewish outreach in the land of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak’s exile. The Rebbe would surely take pride in those continuing his father’s mission. This is the true fulfillment of Rebbetzin Chana’s wish that her husband be remembered.”
The campaign offers spiritual connections, with donors’ names mentioned at Rabbi Levi Yitzchak’s gravesite in Almaty. Many participants report unexpected blessings, including a shliach who donated $200, and then unexpectedly received a donation for $100,000…exactly 500 times the amount!
Ten Chabad Houses now operate across seven Kazakh cities, with plans for expansion. Rabbi Cohen emphasized their goal: “We aim to reach every Jewish soul in Kazakhstan, even in the most remote areas.”
The campaign’s impact is particularly significant given Kazakhstan’s history. Where Jews once feared to practice openly, a vibrant Jewish life now flourishes. Chabad shluchim are creating programs that enable individuals to embrace their heritage proudly, realizing the Rebbe’s vision for the country.
“Every contribution ignites another flame of Judaism,” Rabbi Cohen noted. “We’re witnessing tangible growth in the Rebbe’s institutions here, thanks to our donors’ generosity, and we offer our utmost thanks to them for their support.”
