A true and beatiful insight, But we can’t righteously tell ourselves that and ignore issues that are really niggling at us.. With this thought just marry anyone with the same drive as you… but this isn’t the case, there is room to say no and feel validated for it.

Thank you Rabbi Wolf. There has never been a time in Frum History that people have to meet so many people before finding their ‘Bashert’ young people nowadays get extremely distracted by things that won’t make a difference in years to come, things that didn’t cross peoples minds years ago when it came to shidduchim. Instead of looking at the broader picture and understanding what a marriage really is, it’s picking out details, and becoming so bothered (by over thinking) that they are unable to go ahead with the Shidduch. It depends what the “weakness” is. If you see bad midos, temper, dishonesty, too much self-involvement/yesh, blaming others for everything that goes wrong – these are not weaknesses that can become strengths – these are clear signs of an emotionally troubled person who is not YET healthy marriage material. Please keep in mind that there are those who are expert at putting forth a false front and you will not see these traits until it is too late Gd forbid.
