A 23-year-old Jewish man was shot with a BB gun in a drive-by shooting in Crown Heights Monday evening.
The incident occurred at about 10:30 PM on Montgomery Street near Albany Avenue, when a bullet was fired from a passing SUV and struck the victim as he was walking down the street.
The victim was shot in the head and the leg.
Hatzalah transported him to the hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
The shooter did not say anything to the victim, police said. Police are currently searching for the car and the shooter.
Hate Crimes will investigate further, they said.
Chanina Sperlin of the CHJCC was in contact with 71 Precinct Commanding Officer Inspector Joe Hayward about the incident.
“Inspector Hayward informed that he has already added extra police coverage in Crown Heights following the incident,” Sperlin said.
“I will also pressure the precinct and the borough department to make sure our residents are protected.”
