Times Square was jam packed and full of energy at a spirited Havdalah ceremony and display of Jewish pride on Motzei Shabbos.
Thousands of teens joined together for an awe-inspiring and memorable havdalah, led by performer Benny Friedman, and featured teens from around the world.
Friedman performed a rousing concert of old and new Jewish hit songs, while the exuberant crowd sang and danced along.
A highlight of the event was a video of the Rebbe’s Farbrengen in 770 and singing of “Tzomah Lecha Nafshi,” which reverberated through Times Square.
“You are not the future leaders of the Jewish people,” Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Chairman of CTeen, said in his greetings to the crowd. “You are the leaders of today!”
“It is for you to light not only your flame, but the flame of every person that you come in contact with. So it is up to you to make a difference,” Rabbi Kotlarsky said.
Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Director of Merkos Suite 302, the coordinators of the event, thanked all the donors to local CTeen chapters around the world for their support throughout the year, as well as the CTeen Central donors, who made the spectacular 4-day event of Jewish pride, excitement, and inspiration possible.
“Anyone who wants to see more of these programs which are impacting the Jewish future forever, please get in touch and get involved,” Mendy Kotlarsky said.
“You could feel the energy in the air,” shared Rabbi Shimon Rivkin, director of CTeen. “Tonight’s Havdalah was a big kiddush HaShem and a kiddush Lubavitch.”
