On Tuesday morning, Rosh Chodesh Elul saw a swarm of activity as the first day of school began at Lubavitch Hebrew Academy in Margate Florida. But it was even busier this year, since for the first time ever the Boys Division and the Girls Division each have their own campus. In the last several years, LHA has seen meteoric growth, and in its current location, was bursting at the seams.
On Yud Aleph Nissan 5784 they closed on the purchase of a 30,000 sq. foot commercial facility on 3 acres less than a quarter mile from their current location. This would allow them to double capacity and maintain sperate but nearby campuses. But with the need to completely renovate the property and satisfy the city requirements, LHA understood that a probable move in date was two-three years away. A solution for more space was needed now! So over Pesach they signed a 3-year lease to take over an old child care facility that had fallen into disrepair.
Throughout the summer crews worked feverishly to get the new location ready and up to the standard the administration wanted. BH it was clearly a success. Mrs. Goldberg, a parent, commented, “you can see that everything here was done L’chatchilah! Nothing seems second rate.” Children were excitedly playing on the brand-new synthetic turf and enjoying their spacious classrooms.
Rabbi Yossie Denburg, the founder and dean of LHA said, “As we begin our 40th year of service, it is clear to me that the Rebbe’s Bracha to my wife and I in 5745, for Hatzlacha for Chinuch in Broward County, is more active and stronger each and every year!”
With over 650 students and 130 staff between the Early Childhood and Kindergarten Division, and 1st – 8th Boys and Girls Division, LHA’s positive growth, both in quality and quantity, is clearly continuing.
Wonderful school and such a great begining BH this year!
So nice to see happy, welcoming, smiling Shluchim! Go rabbi Denburg!
A New Haven FAN, who misses that!!
