Announcement from Ahavas Chessed:
Boruch Dovber is a beautiful two and a half-year-old Lubavitch boy from Tsfas, Israel. He is one of ten siblings. About 8 months ago he was diagnosed with a rare, serious condition called pulmonary vein stenosis in which pulmonary veins become narrowed, depriving the heart of essential oxygen.
Little “Berke” was progressively becoming short of breath and no longer able to do what every child his age does. Playing, walking, and even eating became too difficult. The family has been without a source of income for the past 8 months, because his father has been in the hospital round the clock with his sick child, since his diagnosis.
Medical experts agree on a treatment plan with a double lung transplant. This is a difficult and long surgery, available at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was transferred there in early May, and he is awaiting a transplant from a suitable donor. It is a lengthy process, and he will have to be in the U.S. for about a year. Presently his father is with him, and other family members may join them later.
Ahavas Chesed is spearheading a campaign to raise money for this little boy and his family. The family needs your help to cover the medical, living, and travel expenses. The family is seeking to raise $200,000 for the next year of treatment. Hundreds have already come out to help with over $72,000 raised to date.
