When he was freed and at other speeches he announced his hakarat hatov to the president publicly and to great cheers.

We must thank President Donald J. Trump that through his kindness Rubashkin was freed.
Politically Trump gained zero from this act and yet he found it the correct thing to do.
We as Jews must stand and support the best friend the Jews have ever had in the white house

He was thanked..

Definitely Donald Trump had a Zechus to be a good Shaliach of Hashem and deserves recognition. Hashem controls this world as it says “Lev Melachim b’yad Hashem”.

The servility and admiration our community feels for the worst president in our country’s history (and possibly one of the most dangerous and deranged people around today) is always shocking and disappointing. Nevertheless, I am grateful for Rubashkin’s pardon. Sometimes, bad people do good things.
