No one could extinguish the light that stands on the exact place of the remains of the synagogue that was destroyed on Kristallnacht in Freiburg, Germany.
The local police in Freiburg, Germany opened an investigation into an act of vandalism to find the people who vandalized the public menorah that was placed in the center of the city at the old Synagogue square.
According to the local shliach, Rabbi Yanky Gitler, the Menorah has been placed for seven years in the city center on the site of the old synagogue that was destroyed in the Holocaust by the Nazis.
“This year we had a difficult experience when a number of rioters decided to break and dismantle the menorah that was placed in this historic place,” the Shliach said.
The shliach added that nothing will stop us from continuing to illuminate the place – a little light repels a lot of darkness!
