Millye Cohen, a pillar of the Jewish community of Uniontown, a city southeast of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, 14 Menachem Av 5781.
She was 97.
Millye and her husband, Adriel Cohen (Kasriel ben Yoel Dovid) lovingly raised their three children with strong Jewish values, punctuated with the sounds and tastes and smells that bespoke a love for Yiddishkeit and the importance of family ties.
As their two daughters became baal teshuvahs, the Cohens wholeheartedly supported their journey, connecting deeply with their néw friends.
Millye and Adriel took great pleasure in each ainekle, spending much time developing close personal relationships and being an integral part of their lives, family members said.
“Baruch HaShem, their grandchildren are Chassidim and many are on shlichus. The Cohens merited to see many great grandchildren as well,” they said.
She is survived by her children Mrs. Dobra Spinner – Crown Heights; David Cohen – Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Taibke Hyman – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will be sitting Shiva at 5933 Phillips Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217
