Mesivta Lubavitch of Monsey celebrated the end of the zman with multiple siyumim, both collective and individual.
Earlier in the year, the Menahel, Rabbi Sender Lustig, challenged the Talmidim to learn, between their regular sedarim and additional learning Bein Hasidorim, at least 100 blatt gemara by the end of the Shenas Halimudim. The challenge was called Mivtza 100 Blatt.
More than half of the Talmidim completed the Mivtza, learning a minimum of 25-30 blatt Gemara on their own, Bein Hasedorim, with many Talmidim learning many more.
Those who participated in the Mivtza received rewards along the way and a special reward was given to those Talmidim that completed the Mivtza. With all the learning taking place out of seder, the Mivtza added a tremendous chayus to the learning at Yeshiva.
Collectively, by year’s end, over 770 additional blatt were learned by the Talmidim and 20 individual Siyumei Meshechtos were made. Throughout the year, as they finished a mesechta, the Talmidim made public siyumim in Yeshiva after shachris or mincha. For many Talmidim, this was their first time completing a masechta learned on their own.
At the end of the Zman, one Talmid made the final Siyum on Maseches Megillah, and a grand Seuda-Farbrengen was held to recognize the achievement and inspire the Talmidim to continue their limudim throughout the summer.
This is a quastion parents think before they send a cheld to yeshiva.
So monsey puts a big emphasis on learning but there is a magor lack in darkia hachasudus and a good proper yeshiva atmesphere.
Think whats imprortant and make a logical desciasion for your son.
