Mrs. Faygel Minkowitz, a beloved matriarch of a Chabad family and longtime member of the Montreal commmunity, passed away on Sunday, 13 Tishrei, 5782.
Originally from Kharkov, Russia, Faygel was the daughter of R’ Shloime and Sarah Shimanovitz, and was a granddaughter of R’ Aaron Tumarkin and descendent of Reb Binyamin Kletzker.

In Montreal, they were one of the founders of the Shul and Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva. Her husband played an active role in helping the community grow over the years, serving as a gabbai of its main shul alongside the Shluchim who served in key roles such as the Rov Rabbi Yitzchok Hendel, the director Rabbi Leib Kramer, gabbai Rabbi Moshe Eliyahu Gerlitzky and others.
Faygel started a business of high-end fabrics and bijouterie and became very successful, together with her husband they ran the Mink’s fabrics store on the famous Green Avenue in Montreal.
