Bais Chaya Mushka Seminary
It has been a successful start to the 5781 school year at Bais Chaya Mushka Seminary, Montreal, under the new leadership of Mrs. Surie Marasow, a veteran educator, shlucha and director.
We have upgraded our program and the girls are gaining tremendously from the diverse, high caliber curriculum through hands-on learning and thought-provoking conversations, farbrengens, intriguing classes, and interactive workshops that are catered to the Lubavitch high school graduate of today. With care and attention to the interests and needs of the girls in an environment of respect to the student, the girls are acquiring the wide range of skills necessary to navigate the contemporary world as a proud chassidish woman in the Jewish home and outside world.
With in-depth classes on Nigleh and Chassidus Applied as well as Special-ed, Communication and Finance. a Chaya Mushka graduate will be able to leave seminary with the educational potential to continue in any field, whether it be teaching, shlichus or any other vocation they choose.
Joining the team of experienced staff is Mrs. Rivka Lison, coordinator of student services and programming. Her creativity and insight are raising the level of meaningful courses, which enriches and enhances the academic curriculum. In addition, there are ‘Bnos’ functions that focus on chassidic topics and thoughts that are carried out by the girls in a fun, innovative manner.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our seminary is continuing to flourish in a secure and safe environment. If you are interested in joining or for more information please contact Mrs. Marasow at smarasow@theseminary.ca , 514-733-2221.
Amazing program we are loving every single minute
Finally an educator with a balanced perspective taking leadership in our schools!!
There are MANY MANY MANY educators who are superb and balanced and dedicate their lives to education. Please don’t make as if this is the first time this ever happened.
Cudos to the seminary leadership for this change. Its high time that our Mosdos and schools are run by competent and professional leaders.
ממנו יראו וכן יעשו
There is enough good talent in our (and in most) community(ies).
Its nice to see that the seminary did the right move.
Everything in life is relative. When it comes to yiddishkiet, the goal should never be balanced yiddishkiet. Like the saying goes, life is like an escalator, either you’re going up or down. Never in the middle. And that applies millions times more to yiddishkiet. Either you are striving higher or you will automatically go down. As a mechanach, you need role models that are constantly striving to go higher, strong passion, not balanced and neither complacent. There needs to be a fire burning! Neshama is referred to a flame always striving to go higher. Balance will make the person go… Read more »
Wishing Mrs. S. Marasow and Mrs. Rivka Lison much hatzlacha!
The seminary couldn’t have chosen a better team!
What a great addition to the seminary staff. Looking forward to seeing the school flourish
I’m so grateful to have spent my time in seminary with the incredible leadership of Mrs. Brand – so entirely in-tuned with girls, devoted heart and soul, with a uniquely sensible approach while imparting and fortifying the values we were hoping to gain from our seminary year. I feel indebted and hope the above changes I’m reading here have not compromised the value that a seminary experience should provide.
Couldn’t agree more!
Well said!
Still in touch with Mrs Brand till today, always happy to help someone in need wether physically or spiritually !
These women are real role models for our girls.
Kol Hakavod!!
Thank you Mrs Brand for your devotion to establishing the Sem into the solid school that it is! I treasure my experience under your care.
Mrs Brand was my teacher and my kallah teacher! I know personally many women who contact her for help in many areas in life. She is so wise, broadminded, practical, talented, humble, kind and open to making things work so we can all be happy. With that being said, she knows how to do it without ever compromising on any values in yidishkieit and chassidishkiet. It’s unusual to find such a combination as a mechanech and a mashpia. We need more people like her in the world! I feel privileged to have gotten to know her !! Hashem should bless… Read more »
