Cheder Menachem of Kingston, Pennsylvania has announced the appointment of educator Rabbi Yoel Chazan, formerly a teacher in Darchai Menachem of Crown Heights as their new principal.
Rabbi Chazan will be joining the amazing and dedicated teachers and staff, and will Bez”h lead the school to even greater academic excellence, adding Chayus and a Chassidishe Varimkeit to the daily life of the Talmidim and Talmidos.
“Baruch Hashem, we have been growing tremendously in our students count year to year, with this year alone adding 25% more students than last year, with over 15 new families moving in over the summer,” said Rabbi Yossi Baumgarten, the school’s administrator. “Now with the addition of Rabbi Chazan we are growing spiritually as well,” he added.
Rabbi Chazan comes highly recommended with his extensive experience in chinuch and in helping all kinds of learners reach their potential.
“We look forward to him being a great addition and asset to our school,” Rabbi Baumgarten said.
Cheder Menachem was founded 9 years ago to serve the growing Lubavitch community in Kingston, PA, With a goal to educate our next generation of young leaders to be Chasidishe Balei Batim, Shluchim, and to ultimately give the Rebbe Nachas!
“Our mission,” adds Rabbi Chazan, “is to give our children a Geshmack in learning a Pasuk Chumash, Gemara, and in doing a Mitzvah.”
What started off as a community of 10-15 families, has grown into a vibrant and strong community of almost 80 families.
“We have reached the capacity in our current school building and have now begun looking for a much larger campus to house our ever-growing Cheder and continue to serve the needs of the community,” says Rabbi Baumgarten.
“When looking to move to a new community, one of the first, if not the first question is, Chinuch,” says Rabbi Baumgarten. “People always ask, how is the school, will they be able to accommodate my children…and that’s what we are here for,” he says.
“I look forward to welcoming our 200th family in the not so distant future,” concludes Rabbi Baumgarten.
