Rabbi Yossi and Mushkie Swued, along with their three-month-old baby Chana, will be joining the Chabad House at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada.
Thousands of Jewish students at Western University will soon benefit from the new shluchim who will be moving from Crown Heights, New York, and will be making their new home close to Western’s campus, and providing Jewish services and education for its students.
The Swueds will be joining Mushkie’s parents, Rabbi Mordechai and Nechamie Silberberg, assisting them in the shlichus they began 24 years ago.
“Words cannot express our gratitude to Hashem Yisbarech for giving us the zechus to see a second generation join our shlichus,” Rabbi Silberberg said. “We are so excited and know that Yossi and Mushkie will add a fresh perspective and experience for our students.”
“As the son and grandson of shluchim, I am humbled and honored to join the Rebbe’s army,” said Rabbi Yossi. We look forward to meeting all the students and seeing how we can help expand the reach of Chabad at Western University.”
Chabad of Western University currently offers its students weekly shiurim, Lunch n Learn, special girls’ and womens’ events, with their flagship program on Friday night Shabbos meals, which draw hundreds each week.
