Parents and grandparents joined together to celebrate as talmidim of grade eight of Oholei Torah graduated, culminating their studies in Oholei Torah Elementary.
Hatomim Shneur Zalman Felberman opened the event with Tehillim. Hatomim Yehuda Kalman Schmukler said Tehillim in memory of his grandfather, Rabbi Yehuda Kalman Marlow obm, whose 22nd yahrzeit is today.
A siyum was made by two Talmidiim, Yossi Bell made a Siyum on Maseches Makos on behalf of the entire grade, and hatomim Avrohom Weingarten made a Siyum on gemara Sota, on behalf of the students who learned it.
Hatomim Chezky Paltiel spoke, saying that this is not an end but the transition to a higher level in the milestones of Yeshiva.
Rabbi Geisinsky from Great Neck, NY, father of Meir Geisinsky, spoke on behalf of the parents. He said that the mechanchim and parents have given their all to the children, and now the children are reaching an age when it’s in their hands to make the right decisions for themselves.
Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Wilhelm, the Menahel, spoke about the meraglim and the lessons we can learn from the ones who didn’t get swayed by the rest, and to learn from Yehoshua and Colaiv about the connection to a Rebbe, and not to be influenced by surroundings.
Hatomim Hirshy Bronstein together with parents and students, honored rabbi Wilhelm with a large framed picture of his father, the long time Menahel of Oholei Torah Mesivta Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm obm, which will hang in the Yeshiva in his memory, and they bentched Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Wilhelm to continue in the ways of his father.
Each student received a diploma and the Sefer ‘Dem Rebbin’s Kinder,’ and each of the mechanchim received a gift as well.
“We wish all the talmidim a gezunte zummer and hatzlacha in their continued journey in Yeshiva,” rabbi Wilhelm said.
