“Orthodox Rabbis” Accused of Secretly Being Evangelical Christians

A father and son practicing as Orthodox rabbis in America have been accused by anti-missionary investigators of being secret evangelical Christians, the Jewish Chronicle reported.

A wedding announcement in 1995 in a Palm Springs newspaper shows that Michael and Summer Dawson were married in Trinity Lutheran Church in New Era Michigan.

But Dawson has since changed his name to Michael Isaacson and has been claiming that he is halachically Jewish by birth.

His aunt Marlene Gruenfelder, 65 of Centreville, Maryland, stated: “No, my family is not Jewish,” adding that Michael’s mother Linda was raised a Lutheran.

Michael and his son Calev Isaacson, with an appearance of Orthodox Jews, currently live in Phoenix, Arizona. They have also lived as Orthodox Jews in Portland, Oregon, Milwaukee and Texas where Michael worked as a mashgiach (kosher supervisor) in the Houston Kashrut Association.

They have reportedly also been writing Stam, officiating weddings, divorces and even conversions. They also took part in the work of the Chevra Kaddisha.

Investigators at anti-missionary organization Beynenyu claim the family always move on when confronted by suspicious rabbis and fellow members of their community to escape being uncovered, the Chronicle reported.

There is no evidence that the Isaacsons are attempting to convert Jews to Christianity, but when confronted over their true faith they have refused to renounce their belief in the founder of Christianity.
