President of Paraguay Don Horacio Cartes Jara hosted Rabbi Levi and Miri Feigelstock, directors of Chabad in the South American country, for a private meeting on Wednesday.
The president gave them a very warm welcome and the Shluchim presented him with a plaque in recognition of all that he has done for the Jewish community and Israel.
Paraguay is the third country in the world to officially recognize the holy city of Jerusalem as the diplomatic capital of Israel. On May 21st, 2018, the Paraguayan embassy was moved to Jerusalem, following a similar move by the United States.
This encounter was organized and coordinated by Mrs. Ruth Mendelzon, a longtime supporter of Bet Jabad Paraguay.
Among the things discussed the president spoke about the connection of Israel and Paraguay and the potential between the two countries.
Mrs. Mendelzon expressed her gratitude for his support of the Jewish nation.
Rabbi Feigelstock, in addition to thanking the president for all that he has done till now, quoted the Rebbe’s message that one shouldn’t be satisfied with what he has achieved until now, but always strive to do more good.
