This year, the Parsha Pop Up pilot program, created by Mushky Yiftach a teacher at Maimonides School in Los Angeles and Mussi Greenberg, a former teacher at Cheder Chabad of Baltimore, was a huge success.
As schools needed to scramble and transfer their classes to zoom, the excitement of Parsha Pop Up transitioned smoothly. The kids were thrilled to be able to continue with their favorite weekly lessons on zoom.
“Every week, the students create a new open-ended pop-up card that they can then display at their Shabbos table,” says Parsha Pop Up co-creator Mushky Yiftach. “Our objective is to provide a weekly Dvar Torah, presented in a creative, fun, meaningful, and age-appropriate way.”
Included in the package are printable templates of the project, editable Dvar Torahs, pictorial supplies list, and Instructional videos for teachers to watch.
“Students love it. They look forward to it all week. They ask their mothers to schedule appointments around the lesson,” says co-creator Mussi Greenberg. “Parents love it. Their child is so excited and confident to share her Dvar Torah at the Shabbos table each week!”
Teachers love it as well, Greenberg said. “It’s a great, effortless activity and lesson that’s prepared for you!”

BS”D. More than magnificent! Everybody’s ideas from all ages should be shared on your website to stimulate more excitement about the Parsha. Your wonderful innovation can tip the scales and bring Moshiach now! Pop ups can be used on mivtzoyim For publicizing the seven Noahchide laws, encourage candle lighting and to illuminate the deeper meaning of the holy days, and putting on of Tefillin etc. THANK YOU.
