Elan Kornblum of Great Kosher Restaurants Foodies reports:
I’m here to share some significant updates about Patis Bakery, the first kosher café chain of its size in the U.S.
Patis took a bold step to bring high-quality kosher cafés to areas that traditionally lack kosher options, including the heart of Times Square.
Recently, Patis Bakery filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as part of a strategic restructuring plan.
This move is designed to help them continue to serve our community. Despite the challenges, 11 of their locations remain open, ready to serve you artisan quality sandwiches and pastries you’ve grown to love.
This is a critical time for Patis, and they need our support more than ever. By standing behind this Jewish-owned business, we can help them continue to grow and thrive. Without our support, there is a possibility that they could close their doors and I for one do not want that!
Let’s rally together and support Patis, ensuring they can keep bringing kosher excellence to our communities. Stay tuned for more updates!

why do i need to support an organization that encourages wasting big money on vegatable oil, and sugar
Maybe we should start educating our children that eating healthy and cheapishly is the way to survive inflation

because he is a jew and we always help each other.
If you can’t keep up the quality don’t open so many locations…
They used to be good but recently it’s gotten a lot worse and they are always missing half the menu…
I remember once eating at the old manhattan location,
Had some awesome service. Devora was all around solid. and so was Jeffey.
Its a shud that this should happen. the ones that do good service should always stay around
If a cookie wasn’t $7 I’d go there
They started out with a bang. Food not awesome for the money. Service not great either. I wish I could support them more.
Every time I go there is not enough staff. It’s hectic, staff looked super stressed . Not relaxing to hear people name being screamed out when their food is ready. Also don’t want to eat on paper plates.
Love the Bryant park location. That’s great
Other then good pastries, I could never find anything that I really enjoyed eating. I felt like I was paying high prices for things I could throw together myself.
As far as real French food goes, it doesn’t live up to the standard.
I wish someone would open up a healthy restaurant. I’m so tired of sugar, pasta and white flour. It makes you tired, fat and prone to diabetes. I’ll be the first one to support that brave person. Yes, it’s more expensive to cook healthy food, but I believe people will pay for it.
I love Patis. They aren’t any more expensive than everywhere else and the quality is amazing. Please support the one in CH which is especially good. Yes, recently they switched to disposable dishes but their food, service, vibe, and location is still excellent!
Good place but something was amiss
A company files for chapter 11 when they aren’t making profits because they aren’t making revenue because they don’t have customers because their product begins to suck – this place was good for the first month they opened in CH – the CH location is so lousy, food is sub bar, there are zero good service employees, half the menu is always unavailable, tables are unclean, and prices per portions are exaggerated.
their customer service for a high end place was worse than walmart. took way too long for food to come out and arrogant obnoxious employees. improve there and that will help grow your customer base
Overpriced food esp in this economy
They look annoyed and act like you are bothering them and doing you the biggest favor. Could have been a great success. It’s a pity
Patis was amazing when it had one or two locations. Those days are long gone, but the prices go up, the service stays mediocre and the food is no different than any other mediocre cafe these days. Such a shame.
Their pastries are phenomenal. Unfortunately the prices are high. I hope that with the restructuring, the can pair down the menu to what really works or focus on pastries.

Perhaps if they had a local hechsher that might attract a few more from the community. When you come to a community that has several hechsherim and you bring in an outside hechsher you are not going to do well
I agree. I would be more likely to support a local hechsher.
One of the things that they are going to have to do is close the locations that have insanely high rents that eat up all the profits.
