Why spend less when you can buy the best
Where can we see it?
just go erev yom tov on kingston and get an extreamly mehudar esrog for 15 dollars
With Lulav etc.
Chinuch set is 55 USD on erev yomotov
Regular set is about 300 USD
100
For a nice normal yellow esrog; that is already expensive for my budget.
We pray everyday in Shmonei esreh
and are told to have in mind
A esrog, wine for kiddush and wheat for matzah when praying for sustenance
365×3 prayers a day
How much should it be worth?
$150
So. I haven’t told many this. Absolutely honest n true.
As I get paid Friday every week. I would put away 5$ each week.
In an envelope, with Esrog on it. At the end of the year I would have aprox 250$ which I use for my set without feeling the financial burden.
This is a very special Mitzvah. Different then most others
ולקחת לכם – פרי עץ הדר
Doesn’t say that in any other Mitzvah. So I do this special savings to buy above and beyond that I normally would be expected to. Gut YomTov
Or new hat etc.
a new hat can go up to $300 and a dress …. Or that meat for Yom Tov?
How much did you pay the lady to clean your house?
I have noticed very very rich people (the guys that has more than one house) that won’t spend more than a few dollars on a esrog.
It’s Really the “yetzer harah “
Is good to keep a barometer on rich and not so rich!
NOT
$250
Thank you Tzvious HaShem for supplying sets for $10 including esrog for boys – me & my family will use this only one.
Thank you CSSY – we will have YT food
Why we need to spend big money on Tishrej that we don’t have? If I had I would donate and support someone’s education that is much important to raise more stable next generation.
Buy for yourself an Esrog that YOU like and that is according to your means- don’t buy to impress someone else or to show off… buy to be please only yourself and HaShem!
Usually I spend around $200, this year I got a nice one in Crown Heights for 160
The vaccinated will notice that the lulov bends towards the vaccine location.
It is a very good question, and I’m sure it’s on many a mind. To what degree is one supposed to extend himself on fulfillment of this Mitzva. My suggestion is, to feature an article on the subject from a person knowledge in Halacha on the subject.
A gut Yom tov to everyone.
