Famed lecturer Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Paltiel, founder of insidechassidus.org, and popular teacher and mentor, led a packed Farbrengen on Tuesday evening celebrating Yud Shevat, the day when the Rebbe assumed leadership.
Close to 300 people joined the event throughout the evening, which included a full Seudah. It was hosted by Beis Eliezer Yitzchok Shul, in merit of Harav Don Yoel OBM ben Harav Dov Ber Levy OBM.
The Farbrengen began with the reciting of Basi Legani, as is customary on Yud Shvat, by Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld.
The first speaker was Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba, member of the Bais Din of Crown Heights, who spoke about the lessons of Basi Legani for our daily lives.
Rabbi Paltiel led the spirited Farbrengen until 2 AM, speaking about the day of Yud Shevat, the Rebbe’s leadership, and the mission the Rebbe gave to us in our generation.
Rabbi Paltiel stressed the Rebbe’s lessons to us in this generation about the importance of the Chinuch of the children. The Rebbe established Tzivos Hashem and did more initiatives for the children than any of the other Rebbeim, he noted.
He also spoke about the Rebbe’s emphasis on Simcha, which is the basis of a Chasidishe life and the way to educate children in the proper path.
Participants remained at the Farbrengen for many hours, singing niggunim and dancing, uplifted and inspired with many good resolutions for the future. “You could feel in the atmosphere, that people were just waiting for the ultimate farbrengen when we will celebrate Hakhel in the Bais Hamikdash Hashlishi with Moshiach,” one participant said.
