In celebration of Tes Adar, the day the Frierdiker Rebbe arrived in America, Rabbi Sholom Ber Schapiro’s Historic Treasures program will reveal some unusual facts, stories and features about the beginning years of Chabad in America.
The program will also commemorate the yartzeit on the 10th of Adar, of Mrs. Chana Schapiro, mother of Rabbi Shalom Ber Schapiro, with some interesting highlights of her life. She was the daughter of the well-known Chossid, Rabbi Schneur Zalman Wilenkin, teacher of the Rebbe during his young years.
The special day of Tes Adar commemorates the arrival to America of the Frierdiker Rebbe in 1940.
It marked the beginning of a new era and renewed life in Jewish history. In the midst of the horrors and destruction of World War Two – having been miraculously rescued – the Frierdiker Rebbe was starting to build.
He did not let the personal torture and setbacks he suffered under communism deter him from his one and only goal – yidden and Yiddishkeit, and preparing the world for Moshiach.
To that end, he set about establishing the foundations of Chabad in America upon which to build his groundbreaking ideas. To spread chassidus to the entire world.
In this program – we will share interesting anecdotes of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s trip to America in 1929 as a visitor and later on, in 1940 as an immigrant.
We will glimpse the initial meetings the Frierdiker Rebbe had with his trusted nucleus of partners and supporters in establishing Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch and laying the groundwork of Chabad as we know it today.
Included in these anecdotes:
– Introducing the fascinating supporter and friend of the Rebbe, Julius Stulman, and the role he played in the Rebbe’s holy dreams that have come to fruition. We will continue in the next two weeks to get to know this brilliant character – with facts of his activities never before revealed.
– A unique audiotape of a farbrengen with the Frierdiker Rebbe – with parts of his sicha and a niggun.

The F.R. might have written something similar to this which could shed light on what he’s saying.
Also the Rebbe saying
יעדער איד בכלל, יעדער איד בכלל. חסידישע איד בפרט!
Thank you, Rabbi Schapiro, for all your efforts in sharing these treasures with the public. I found the Friedeker Rebbe’s description of American youth heart wrenching and one sees the greatness of the Frideker Rebbe’s Neshoma.
I am looking forward to share this at the Shabbos Table tonight.
Your efforts are very much appreciated.
thank you
