A young Jewish mother has just received a devastating verdict from the Family Court, creating a situation of urgent pidyon shvuyim.
The non-Jewish father was awarded full custody – while the mother will have only extremely limited visitation, against the child and mother’s pleas.
Both the mother and the child are heartbroken at being torn apart. This devoted mother, from an erlich family, did a complete T’shuvah many years ago and has raised her precious young boy as a regular frum child, keeping Shabbos and Yomim Tovim, kashrus, dovening, wearing a yamulka and tzitzis.
He is very sensitive and loves Yiddishkeit and the Torah. The mother is well-known to be a loving, caring, stable and devoted mother.
The Bubbie and Zeide are a constant loving influence for them, but have exhausted their financial resources.
The child desperately wants to go to a Jewish school but has not been allowed. The lack of Yiddishkeit, when he has not been with his mother, has been very traumatic and confusing for him. Now he will barely see her at all.
Tearing him away from his mother and loving home will further upset him and cause more confusion and turmoil in his life. He desperately wants to be a normal frum boy living with his mother.
The Judge’s decision even requires that the mother pay the father’s legal fees for his very expensive lawyer and to pay child support!
The mother has very limited financial means and cannot even meet her current financial needs, much less than those of the father.
The mother has been advised that she has a very good chance to overturn this crushingly painful verdict by making an emergency appeal to the Appellate Court by October 20. If it is not done by then, the ability to appeal is lost forever. The expenses for a legal case are unimaginably high. A new lawyer, one who is qualified to argue cases in the Appellate Court, must now be hired immediately to halt the judge’s order.

Yes there are well-known local Rabbonim who know the circumstances & support this campaign. The friends of the family were anxious to begin the campaign because funds are needed for the legal appeal ASAP. We understand that people want to see that there are Rabbis involved, and we are gathering those names now, but these calls take time. As soon as that is completed, we will add the names.

She needs a yad le achim.type group.of volunteers.. the U.S. court system and gentiles are against jews nowadays. I would be willing to volunteer. Please help find more volunteers, because I have a similar situation and need the help as well

I know these people extremely well and though the story sounds unusual, there is nothing “hidden” or not legitimate about this. This is a baalas tshuva mother with a heart of gold who is losing her child because the child’s father, a non Jew, is a manipulative scary person.
This is so sad iyh the judge will rule favorably
I really want to donate , but I think it’s basic to expect whichever rabonim or org who is approving to state their name for public benefit that this is legit.
