Revel Promises to Honor Free Electric Rideshares

Last week, promo codes were being widely shared on WhatsApp, promising free rides on a rideshare service that many weren’t familiar with.

The result was light-blue Tesla vehicles seen driving around Crown Heights, just as Shluchim have been pouring in for the Kinus Hashluchim.

They were operated by Revel, a Brooklyn-based electric mobility and infrastructure company, which has a fleet of all-electric cars operated by driver employees.

Their flagship Superhub is in Bed-Stuy and they service parts of Brooklyn, Manhattan and all 3 New York area airports – JFK, LaGuardia and Newark, NJ. The company plans to open additional sites in major US cities in 2023.

In an email sent on Shabbos morning, Revel said it would honor the free codes and hope customers would continue to use them after their credit runs out.

Here’s their email, titled “So about those free rides…”:

Well, that was crazy – a bunch of our promo codes went viral this week. While it was completely unexpected, we’re happy you’re here!

You’re probably wondering what happens now. Yes, we’re going to honor the ride credit in your account until it expires on 12/31/22.

So you’ve got some free credit – still need convincing? Revel Rideshare is similar to the black & pink apps on your phone, but our cars are electric and our drivers are full-time employees.

Thanks for giving us a try. We hope you’re excited to ride!
