Jewish Big Book Publishing has just released its newest book, The Yom Kippur Big Book.
Dassie Prus, shlucha in Doylestown, PA teamed up with Mina E. Gordon, shlucha in Melbourne, Australia, to write a book that brilliantly tells the story of the first Yom Kippur.
“The whole book is written so beautifully. It is such a powerful and positive way of teaching this pivotal and often glossed over story,” a satisfied customer shared.
The illustrations are not only exceptionally beautiful but they also help clarify the subject matter allowing the readers to better grasp the forgiveness of Yom Kippur in a visual way. As a teacher shared upon receiving her copy, “The illustrations are AMAZING!! And there is so much information contained in each drawing!”
Prus shares why she chose the Yom Tov of Yom Kippur as the topic of her latest book.
“Yom Kippur has been a challenging topic for me to teach in an engaging and exciting way, both in Hebrew School and in shul,” Prus says.
“Many Jews look to connect specifically on Yom Kippur, after all, it is the holiest day of the year. Public schools give off from school and for some it’s the once a year they come to shul.
“I decided to delve deeper into learning about the Yom Tov. Ever since, teaching Yom Kippur has been easier. As part of my lesson, I incorporated the story of Yom Kippur. I realized that for some reason we don’t automatically associate this holiday with the story behind it. I hope to change that with this book.”
Many people have shared with Prus that her captivating books are their child’s favorite book throughout the year! The big books have the additional bonus of being “magical”, making the reading experience unique, and truly special.
If you can relate to the challenge Prus felt in engaging your audience on Yom Kippur, it’s time to head over to www.Jewishbigbooks.com and order your copy today.

A grandmother, who will be taking the book on an upcoming visit to her young granddaughters messaged Prus, “Thank you so much for the book. It is a gift towards the betterment of Jewish children AND their parents and grandparents.”
