Gunshots were fired Tuesday evening on Union Street near Brooklyn Avenue in the heart of Crown Heights, residents reported.
Residents heard the shots at approximately 5:45 pm and called police, the NYPD said.
After canvassing the area, shell casings were found by police. There were no apparent victims.
Police are searching for surveillance footage from the area.
Residents expressed concern about the recent increase in violence in the neighborhood.
“It is frightening to know that in a residential area where people are living their lives and walking the streets, there are bullets flying around them,” Devorah Halberstam, honorary commissioner for community safety told COLlive.

The cost of living has gone up like crazy here, and each day it becomes more and more difficult to live here. more traffic, taxes, fees , fines , crime etc

This single individual, DeblAssio, is single handedly destroying the city.
If you have a nickel, he wants to take it from you. If you have a dollar he wants to put you in jail.
This man has emboldened criminals to freely roam the city and do as they please while the cops have their hands tied behind their back
We need community leaders, like others have, sharpton, that they go to the city officials,to the media and whatever has to be done to defend the community. Please we need results and stronger leadership.
