Chaya Mushka Seminary in Montreal, Canada, enjoyed an empowering and uplifting month of Shevat which was filled with its in-depth classes along with extracurricular programming.
To celebrate the Rosh Hashana of Trees on Tu B’Shevat, students welcomed the graduating class of Beth Rivkah Academy which is located nearby.
The Beis Rivka girls had the opportunity to get a glimpse into what the seminary next door is like and bond with the seminary students.
The program was planned to bring out the beauty of Tu B’Shevat through a fruit personality test, life-size Jenga and a grand Shivas Haminim Babka Challah bake guided on video by Brooklyn Shlucha Rochi Pinson. The girls had a great time laughing, dancing and singing together making the program a true success.
The month was filled with Chassidishe programs in honor of Yud Shevat and Chof Beis Shevat, the day the Rebbe accepted the leadership of Chabad-Lubavitch and the yartzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson OBM.
The Chaya Mushka Seminary was established by the Montreal Jewish community shortly after her passing in 1998. It started out in a home basement with a few students and grew into a beautiful seminary with a dorm hosting hundreds of girls who are now mothers and Shluchos around the world.
“Chaya Mushka Seminary takes pride in its warm and loving atmosphere making sure that each girl feels at home,” says the principal Mrs. Adina Ceitlin.
This year, the seminary expanded its faculty to continue providing post-secondary education of the highest caliber for young women from around the world.
