I was busy Pesach cleaning, but I knew I had to stop what I was doing and go to the Bnos Chomesh production.
I know that year after year they put on a top notch show, plus I really wanted to show my support.
I arrived at the JCM, tried to put the Erev Pesach chaos out of my mind and get comfortable in my seat. Then the show began. and I realized how this was something extra special.
I understood why the production was entitled Illumination. Because those Bnos Chomesh girls literally lit up the room with their talents.
How incredibly special it was to see each girl being in the spotlight sharing her talent through Art, Dance, Song, and Poetry.
Each girl shone with pride as she dazzled the audience with her Divine gifts. The good feelings were infectious. Before long I realized I had been smiling for an entire hour. It was a standing ovation finale. I realized everyone was feeling what I was feeling.
What just happened?
I kept thinking and thinking, this is so simple. Celebrate people for who they are and the talent they have. Bring them front and center into their own life and into the lives of others. I realized that Illuminate was actually a moshol for excellent education. Shine a spotlight on all parts of a girl: her learning, her personality, her talents, her relationship with Hashem, her personal growth. Give them a chance to shine and they will celebrate not only themselves but each other as well.
That night the audience didn’t watch a show. We felt a show. What we watched was the illumination of souls.

Her success is our success. Be a part of it!
I was there!
I saw the flier and decided to go. I was crying throughout the entire production.
The tears did not stop flowing, and the same was by those near me.
Every school should do such a production. Have every girl shine in her own way. It was truly incredible.
Dena Gorkin and her staff are one of a kind!
Yasher Koach!!
This production was truly truly beautiful. Cried through the whole thing.
I heard it was beautiful and very different than regular productions of every school.
I heard it was beautiful and very different than regular productions of every school.
I was there and I can tell you that it was most definitely not a production. At least not the way you think a production is.
It was a showcase of beautiful talented girls who were shining throughout. The energy in the room was tangible.
This school is one of a kind!
Such an amazing performance!
