A crowd of 15,000 men, women and children gathered on Eastern Parkway in front of Chabad Headquarters for the grand Siyum HaRambam celebration on Tuesday evening. The evening marked the completion of the study of the entire Mishneh Torah – Rambam and paid tribute to unity and commitment to Torah study in this Year of Hakhel.
The evening included greetings from esteemed figures such as the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, and Chief Rabbis Dovid Lau, Yitzchak Yosef, and Shlomo Amar, among others. Their messages infused the event with added significance and reverence, bridging communities across continents.
The program featured the premiere of the short film “Beyond Coincidence,” revealing incredible stories of dedication and determination in studying Rambam. A highlight was a video of Mr. Cohen, a man who, even in the face of extreme adversity and the shadow of death, remained steadfast in his commitment to learning Rambam. His story serves as a poignant reminder of the strength and resilience inherent in the commitment to Jewish studies.
Popular Jewish singers Avraham Fried, Benny Friedman, and Eli Marcus performed heartfelt Nigunim and got the crowd on their feet with lively chasidic dancing.
Eli Marcus debuted a new song composed by the renowned Yanky Kryman, which he was inspired to compose after last year’s historic Rambam Siyum.
