Tzohar Seminary – the only seminary in North America that focuses on Chassidus and the Arts – is celebrating eleven great years of Tzohar! Tzohar Seminary provides an environment where talented young women engage in profound Jewish learning and are empowered to express meaningful ideas through various artistic forms.
We are excited to announce that Tzohar has grown to extend its offerings to women and to Jewish education. The umbrella organization “Tzohar Arts” now includes Tzohar Seminary, Tzohar Women, and Torah Arts.
Tzohar Women will offer extensions of Tzohar Seminary for adult women of different ages offering classes, retreats and new innovative offerings that involve Chassidus, the arts, and personal growth and healing, as well as a community building element.
Torah Arts has been in development for over six years and is also an extension of what we discovered in merging the learning of Torah and the arts. Torah Arts includes Parsha through the Arts™, a curriculum of creative learning experiences that deepens student understanding of Jewish concepts and helps students internalize and personalize their connection with Hashem. Parsha through the Arts™ will soon be available for sale. Torah Arts is also embarking on a collaboration with Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh to integrate the arts in a school-wide Torah curriculum with the purpose of reaching and engaging more students.
Tzohar Seminary is celebrating its growth now by sharing material and content online. There are films spotlighting student life, alumnae reflections, teacher sharing, and videos from well known Jewish artists from the US and Israel who are associated with and believe strongly in what Tzohar has to offer.
A class on davening by Rabbi Aaron Herman, Tzohar’s gifted main Chassidus teacher, is available to watch. A women’s fabrengen on the topic of Geula and Creativity with Tzohar founder and Artistic Director, Amy Guterson with her guest the brilliant Chana Ani Lipitz is also posted. In addition, a Torah Arts zoom panel led by Rabbi Dovid Hordiner, Director of Education, is available so parents and educators can hear about the process of the development of Torah Arts and where it’s headed. This outpouring of materials is a labor of love by Tzohar Seminary’s administration, teachers, students, and alumnae.

My year at Tzohar was magical!!
I started the year knowing no one, troubled mind and unable to express myself.
I left with friends that will last forever, lessons to live by, and teachers to admire.
I loved every second of it and would highly recommend anyone donate and allow others to experience the time of their life emotionally, spiritually, and academically.

I’ve been closely watching what Tzohar does and the impact it has on their students. The generous opportunities for personalizing creativity and skill sets reaches far beyond the one year experience.
