COMMUNICATED CONTENT
Under the Chuppa Magazine is back for its second edition just in time for the holidays. Filled with amazing articles aimed at a diverse audience, this magazine is sure to captivate anyone, whether they are pre-shidduchim age or seasoned married couples. Qualified authors discuss matters ranging from Shidduchim to Shalom Bayis, and readers are sure to be on the edge of their seats while delving into the real life and relatable scenarios presented in the articles. Under the Chuppa is the first of its kind to exclusively cover all marriage related matters for the Jewish world.
The first edition was a tremendous success, with 10,000 copies snapped up by eager readers throughout the tri-state area who were wowed by incredible content. It featured a mix of timely articles, stunning pictures and a wide array of advertisements from a solid lineup of high-quality vendors. The magazine was so well-received, in fact, that it has printed 15,000 copies of its second edition in order to meet growing demand.
Headed by Lubavitcher, Yosef Shidler, this magazine carries with it many Lubavitcher personalities, including original articles from Rabbi Manis Friedman, Rabbi Dov Greenberg, Rabbi Aaron Moss, and Rabbi Yisroel Bernath. Nissa Yarmush of Chabad of Bellingham and Brocha Benamou of Miami helped with the writing. The magazine also contains articles from many other seasoned writers such as Rabbi Nachman Seltzer, Sandy Eller, acclaimed food blogger Sylvia Fallas, Rabbi Y.Y. Rubinstein, and Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein.
After getting a lot of feedback from the first edition in regards to not using women’s photos, the magazine has since changed its policy. “We were advised,” says Yosef Shidler, “to consult with Rabbanim and Mashpi’im on the matter. After discussing with several people, it became clear it was not a halachic issue but a hashkafic one. We were advised to follow the same guidelines as the N’shei Chabad Newsletter and even had their editors review our image content to make sure things were up to par.”
This letter at the bottom of the magazine’s intro has been creating quite a stir among various social media outlets, including Facebook:
After long thought and speaking to Rabbanim and Mashpi’im, we have made the decision to turn the tide and use women and women’s faces in our magazine. We have been advised to work within the standards of the N’shei Newsletter guidelines, as it has the longest history of featuring tznius women. We have tried our utmost to carefully follow those guidelines. One of the ravs we approached on the issue said, “Although a woman may be dressed tzniusdik in a photo, she could still have a non-tzniusdik look or pose. There’s no inherent issue in halacha with a picture of a beautiful woman. Beauty is not the problem. A provocative photo, on the other hand, is an issue.”
As one fan put it, “Keeping to this idea, you want to show women as dignified. Provocative images cause them to be viewed as objects, and to my mind, not showing any women causes them to be viewed as objects as well.” To that end, we have exercised caution with the images we chose to be featured in our magazine, ensuring that they are helping us properly lead the way into the future, without sexism, yet with amazing tznius standards.
The people behind Under the Chuppa clearly believe in upholding and maintaining high standards for their magazine and believe that those convictions will propel them into future editions.

Acc to the article u will have to pay to get it, unless u have a friend from Bklyn, Monsey, Lkwd, that could either bring it to u when the will be coming to Los Angeles or they could mail it to u, this is the point I’m trying to make here, that this magazine should be distributed to all Frum communities all over the world, not just the tri state area
most frum Israelis cant read English? come and see how many copies of Chayenu are sold in Israel. and beis moshiach in English. and hamodia in English and mishpacha:.I think more than in the rest of the world.
I started to read the article on page 68 but there’s no 69. It says the magazine is free but I am in Israel so I cant pick up a copy. how can one read the whole article on line.
I live in LA and would love to read this magazine! Please tell me what to do to get it!
A lot of us here in Melbourne have read this article & are really interested in this magazine bec it discuss life issues like Shalom Bayis, Shidduchim & other things that are very interesting, I understand it’s a start up magazine, but that’s not a reason to limit it to the tri state area for now, when ppl want to get their name out they find ways to do it, I’m sure u would really love for all the Frum communities worldwide to be able to read your magazine, that is except isreal being that most frum Isrealis can’t read… Read more »
distribution for “the whole world” or even “the whole country” is a much bigger game, especially for a small start up. Surely you can understand that that is likely the reason, rather than some imagined slight against non-tri-state Jewish communities?
Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Miami, Cleveland, Milwakee, Minneapolis, Montreal, Pittsburgh, Houston have big enough Frum communities why is it for sale out of the Tri State, why not consider us as part of the Frum community, just bec we are outside of Bklyn, Monsey, Lkwd we have to be charged when everyone else is getting it for free, btw if the magazine manager would realize that there is a whole Frum world out of Bklyn & Monsey, it would increase his business how about Melbourne, Sydney, London, Johannesburg, Manchester, Antwerp, The Holy Land, the more the world sees your magazine… Read more »
Where in Monsey can I get a copy ? Loved your first edition.
