Thank you for taking the time to compose your extremely thoughtful and inspiring letter and validating this young women’s concerns and doubts.
Your most positive, lchaf zchus and hand on approach is exactly what is needed to not only address this young lady but the many others who read and relate to her thoughts and concerns.
If other machanchos would answer the questions and doubts with such sensitivity, care and love the way you just did, we will definitely all benefit with nachas and keeping our children on the derech.

So so special

Thank you Mrs Geula Newman. You took each point deeply and seriously and showed us how to see the good. To grow from here, without dismissing the pain. Thank you, all of us, including myself, years out of high school, can benefit from reading this again and again.

Thank you for taking the time.

Well said. Thank you

Many schools are lacking in ways to guide the girls. These girls need more fabrengens these days, more programs, more good initiatives, more good things for them to be busy with.
Instead many schools are not having those extra curriculur programs because of covid, its hard for the girls to come back to high school with so little going on in school, besides the actual in class learning ( where many girls don’t even pay attention and learn).

Lacking in fun

More staff that girls actually connect to. More learning that the girls actually connect with. more programs keep them busy and having fun, but don’t necessarily help to connect their minds and hearts to the learning and values.

Thank you!

This was a very well written and warm letter which has a beautiful message of what chasidishket really is. The only question I have is about the moshel you brought of someone who wasn’t frum then became frum even after experiencing all kinds of asur things. The thing is that we grew up with the knowledge that these things are very wrong. We were raised in a household where we were taught that this isn’t how a chossid lives their life. How can you compare that to a Baal Tshuva who did NOT grow up with this mindset??

This is incredible. You should have a teenage website or blog or something where girls can reach out to you and where you post articles answering questions such as this one. Long out of high school, even I benefited from these words. It’s clear to see that Chassidishkeit is something real for you.

Every word a gem.

In Brief: the Rebbe of Karlin said that despair is not an aveira but it leads to all other Aveiros. We may never give up on ourselves .
Nor can we expect a level of tzidkus that our meshing doesn’t have…
we all fail , multiple times. and brush ourselves off and continue to strive. That’s what is expected of us.
Ask Hashem for healing
