Adapting to the recent social isolation was certainly difficult for both children and adults.
For most, life was following its normal course when everything changed, along with the spread of the coronavirus, people had to adjust to a new routine, without school and without contact with colleagues. The lockdowns and school closures brought many changes to everyone’s life, especially for youngsters.
“Students and teachers, especially, were missing each other quite a bit,” said Rabbi Moti Begun, Director of Gani and Lubavitch Schools in S. Paulo, Brazil.
With this in mind, the Gani and Lubavitch Schools recently prepared a special event: a Drive-Thru event. The entire team of Morahs, Rebbes, professors and staff members prepared a special event for the students, with many surprises included with dedication and affection.
Students’ families came by car to the school, parking in the indicated places, so that the students could see their colleagues and teachers, even if from a distance. Outside, smiles were seen from the school staff and from the students and families in the cars, as well as messages on the cars prepared with love by the children.
The students were surprised to receive an incredible kit: all the school and learning materials to be used in the next semester; a personalized bag; a custom mask; and a delicious snack prepared by the kitchen staff so that they could remember the sweet taste of school days.
“It was a day full of emotion!” said Rabbi Begun. “Parents and teachers left thankful feedback about the event that will not be soon forgotten by all those who participated.”
