Democratic candidate Eric Adams won New York City’s mayoral election on Tuesday night, soundly defeating Republican challenger and “Guardian Angels” founder Curtis Sliwa in a race to determine who will lead the nation’s most populous city.
Adams, the current Brooklyn borough president, was overwhelmingly favored to win the election since defeating 12 other Democratic candidates in a primary election over the summer. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by approximately seven-to-one in New York City.
A former police captain, Adams will become the second Black mayor in New York City’s history. He has pledged to crack down on violent crime while overhauling law enforcement tactics, though he has resisted calls from some city Democrats to “defund” the police.
Will he let the 26,000 city workers take their jobs back??
Unfortunately, no. He’s in support of the vax mandate.
And get vaccinated!
Not hard.
It’s not about adults being vaccinated, it’s about forcing parents to vaccinate their children in order for them to be allowed into school. Come back and tell us how you feel after taking your three-year-old to get a vaccine (that hasn’t been out long enough to make an educated decision about). The government does not have the right to force parents to make private decisions about their children. Parents have sole jurisdiction over that.
Don’t get your hopes up!
He might be the best of the Democrats but that is not saying much.
My 11 year old could run NYC better than these dimwits.
I understand that Sliwa didn’t have much of a chance but it seems like a a major slap in the face along with not giving hakaros hatov to Curtis Sliwa who has always stood by the Jews.
Very sad…
After he insulted yeshivos and said they steal money from the government? What Hakaras hatov do we owe him at this point?
There are LOTS of things that are quite questionable regarding Eric Adams’ history, not the least of which is that David Dinkins is his hero. If in 40+ years of Sliwa’s public life, you can find only one instance of a negative comment, then he’s doing OK
I was not aware about this.
If this is true that would make more sense.
But this is the “real world” and a Republican doesn’t (yet) have a shot at being Mayor. Eric Adams, a former policeman, wants to bring back safety to our streets – which we desperately need – and he will now be in a position to do it. If you want to say “Thank You” to Curtis Sliwa, which he definitely deserves for all of his help to our community, then send him a sincere email thanking him ….
Is this good or bad?
Time will tell
look at them go without masks, while they want everyone else to wear one
He WILL make a vaccine mandate for EVERYBODY,
you just wait and see,
it IS coming,
mark my words, I GAURENTEE you,
I GAURENTEE It !!!!!!!
The black community is probably just as vaccine resistant as you are. Ice Cube turned down a $5 million deal because of the vaccine mandate. Would you turn down $5 million?
MAZAL TOV, GREAT GUY.
With this, the voters of New York City have decided that your children don’t belong to you. They belong to the state, which now has the right to do whatever they want to them: inject them with experimental “vaccines,” enroll them in the Komsomol, etc.
All is Hasgocho Protiyus!!!
Lets be Mispallel that Eric Adams keeps his promise regarding keeping our city safe.
It is great seeing OUR Askinim center and front.
Reb Chanina CHAZAK V’EMOTZ.
Lets give the man a chance please. He hasn’t even gotten into office yet. Looking at these pictures give me great hope. A little bit of tracht gut v’zein gut might go a lot farther than these negative projections. Adams was our Senator and now BP and had never done anything negative to our or any community. He has great goals. Yes there has been a lot of negative in the news lately especially in regards to mandates, but one thing I heard him say regarding NYC mandates is, that we need to speak to the Unions. He is a… Read more »
Please make sure he protects our religious rights. Above all his pledges and vows, religion is #1 to hold him responsible for. And I never heard him once mention it.
Amazing thank you G-d bless Eric Adams our new mayor
Don’t understand the wailing and gnashing of teeth (at least the wailing happening now). Adams won 7 to 1. This was never in doubt and we knew the election was decided in the primary.
But it’s all circling down the drain anyways.
Go ahead and read the EricAdams2021.com plan for Governing.
Among the first items is a hiring freeze for the next two years in NYC with concurrent buyouts of more tenured employees.
What type of healthy enterprise makes that type of commitment. NY is broke and we should expect service declines for the foreseeable future.
Disappointed, but this is all part of Hashem’s plan! Moshiach now!
