Amidst the heavy feelings of sadness and grief over the Meron tragedy, Chabad of Baka, Jerusalem, along with dozens of shluchim across Israel, knew what the Rebbe’s instructions would be. The parade must continue, as planned, dedicated to the refuah shleima of those injured and liluy nishmas the many precious souls taken.
Over 200 people kiyh gathered at Jerusalem’s trendy First Station on Friday, April 30. The diverse crowd of children and adults united in Tehillim, Torah pesukim, and the beautiful annual parade. There was a circus entertainer, inspiring stories about ahavas Yisrael, a drumming band, and candle-making and rides at the end.
A beautiful Sefer Kodesh was distributed to each child, with stories and pictures of our Neviim.
Children from the Friendship Circle of South Jerusalem, directed by Chabad of Baka, were part of the festivities and thoroughly enjoyed. Particularly inspiring was the fact that the volunteers came to the event after spending a harrowing night at Meron and brought joy and smiles to children of all abilities.
One participant articulated the sentiment of many, “It’s amazing that Chabad brings so much light and unity in the face of tragedy and darkness.”
May we experience the ultimate comfort and joy of Moshiach speedily!
